I have 3 days off in a row, and with the kids not in school and hubby not having work, I have this little luxury called TIME! Ugh, I'm not sure what to think about it. I am so happy to be off, don't get me wrong, I work hard at that dang grocery store, but I'm not used to having absolutely nothing to do. Now, I could rearrange the house (don't want to though), I could go wash the car (but it would either start raining or get dirt on it as soon as I'm done), or any other random thing in this house, but I just have no idea what to do...I cleaned my room yesterday, bc good gracious, it was much needed. The kids need to clean their rooms, but they need help when doing it right, and I definitely do not want to get bogged down in that chore.
So...I'll just write in my blog...it's actually a challenge on my iPad, but better than a phone, and I'm watching tv w the hubs, so I don't want to go to the bedroom on the computer. I did see this list of questions that people were answering on their blogs, so I think I'll do that now.
1. Fave thing to photograph--obviously, the kids!!! I love taking them to the park, or draping a sheet over the back of the couch and creating a photoshoot, and I also enjoy just random, not posed shots...I use my iPhone for some of the pics but I also have a Nikon D80 that is my baby! I'm capturing memories that will definitely last forever. Sometimes you "forget" about an event or particular moment until you are reminded by a glance of a pic. So it's nice.
2. Fave thing to cook--so I'm not as much of a cook as David is, but dangit, I sure do try. I love to bake more than anything, and I'm not so good at cooking meat. Asking me to use the grill is just out of the question. I tried one time when David and I were dating to cook chicken on the grill. David was at school, and I'd gone to the store and got my ingredients for a great surprise meal for 2, and it flopped, big time. Needless to say, we ate out that night. I've never flopped in baking before though :)
3. Fave way to exercise--I would loooooovvveee the chance to say that I love to run, but fact is, I'm not very good at it. I had back surgery and it bugs me when I try to run. I keep trying though. So I walk a lot...I like to swim and walk. And try to run, lol...I do a lot of 5k walks and events for the causes. I get a workout, I promote the cause, and I help raise money...it's all a win situation!
4. Fave movie--eeeeek! I love movies...my all-time fave is Dirty Dancing, but I really love rom-coms.
5. Fave article of clothing--ummmmm...idk, in summer, it's my workout shorts and a tee, and in winter, it's sweat or yoga pants, usually. I do love my jeans though.
6. Fave flower--probably the Gerbera daisy. They are pretty. I'm not all about roses, they are typical of a "surpris-y" flower.
7. Fave breakfast--well, if I'm doing healthy, it's yogurt. I love Greek yogurt, especially the Chobani brand-it's the best!! If I am not counting calories, bring on the bacon, grits and eggs, or a veggie omelet. Yum!!
8. How to unwind in evening--I love the evenings when I'm off work and we have finished dinner and dishes, we've finished brushing teeth and baths, and we turn on the music. The kids, David and I will turn on our iTunes, and sing and dance like crazy! The kids love Green Day (the clean versions), Elvis, Michael Jackson, and other oldies. Our kids are well rounded in that they listen to all types of music, old and new. Now, obviously, no dirty stuff, but if it's clean, they listen. One of Rianna's faves is Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love", hilarious!!!
9. Beach, pool, or lake--they all have their high points...pool, bc it's nice, lake bc of boats, and beach-well, beach really needs no explanation, does it?!?!?
10. Fave travel destination--I will not answer w a place we haven't been, so let's see...we looooooovvvvveee Florida and California, and I love the mountains of Tennessee in the fall and spring. The kids haven't been there yet...
I think that's enough randomness for now...I'm gonna attempt to post a few pics, when I figure it out :)
